Our resort is located in the heart of the Roosevelt national forest. The site notes that "The upper stretch of the Cache La Poudre was designated under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act because of its outstanding recreation, scenic and hydrologic features; and it remains Colorado’s only river with this designation. Recreation opportunities abound along its length: enjoy one of 11 campgrounds along its banks, picnicking, fishing, hiking, and white-water rafting and kayaking in late spring and early summer"
Drive the Poudre Canyon - Hwy 14
Just getting to the park is a place to see. We are located in the mid point of HWY 14 (Poudre Canyon Rd) This beautiful scenic drive is a popular drive for many. It is about a 2 hour drive from Fort Collins to Walden.
The town has beautiful lakes a variety of stores and businesses, including groceries, deli, supplies, fishing passes, a hardware store, a post office, community library, restaurants, gifts and antiques.
A former dance hall in the 1900's. This theater in the canyon hosts many musical events throughout the season.
Fish the River
Our river has some of the best trout you can catch. Come fish at our campground or one of the many spots in the canyon. Need Supplies? Check out the sporting good section of our store.

Hiking the Greyrock Mountain Trail, Hewlett Gulch Trail, Arthur’s Rock Trail, and Young Gulch Trail for stunning views and encounters with wildlife.

Climbing at Poudre Falls
For you water loversyou can also take a tube, raft, kayak or canoe. Enjoy the beauty of the canyon on the river that helped make it.
For kayakers, the river between the Upper and Lower Picnic Rocks is the Poudre’s only beginner-level section.
Challenge your white water skills. The most challenging section of the river is “The Narrows” Which ranges from class IV to V+.
The Narrows has three sections:

Upper Narrows - has three drops - Two of the drops are Class V.

Middle Narrows - rated Class IV.

Lower Narrows – Class V. Starts below the Highway 14 bridge.
This is a cold water fish production facility on the Cache La Poudre River. It has guided and self-gided tours.

Currently the Roosevelt National Forest visitor center was originally a summer resort camp which was built in 1931. It has Rustric cabins to view.

The lodge is also known as a viewing spot for bighorn sheep, mostly on the hillsides behind the main buildings.
Ghost Town - Founded in 1890 and wiped out when a dam burst 1891. All that remains of the town today is the chimney from the stamp mill.
Enjoy Buddist architecture at the Drala Mountain Center. Nestled high in the Colorado Rockies, Drala Mountain Center (DMC) provides the perfect retreat setting for studying yoga, meditation and contemplative arts. Day visitors are welcome.
